I am writing in the hope that you may be able to answer some questions from the local sports archives.
In 1938 my father Ron Ford went to Germany on a football tour with a Brighton and Hove Club. His brother Eric Ford was a local police officer and
I’m not sure if the tour was organised by the police or the town team.
I know they visited Düsseldorf and Altenberg and they were taken on “a motor tour of a labour camp”. They saw a Nazi rally and saw bomb shelters.
I’m trying to find out more about the tour … who organised the tour, where else did they go, why did they go at that time, who did they play, game results, team photos?
