I often wondered whether Brighton greengrocers had an unwritten law committing them to use an identical but unusual font on their price tickets. Whether the shop was in the high street, a market or the goods were on a barrow, the handwritten font was always the same. Short stocky letters with flat tops and the “per lb” in the top right corner.
