Henry (or Harry) HOBDEN, a miller in Brighton c.1800

by Alan Hobden 13 October 2015

I am looking for any information about this man, who appears in the 1798 UK Land Redemption Tax – East Street, Brighthelmstone for Wind Mill and Ground plus a House occupied by BUCKMAN. We know he was the miller at East End Mill, south of St George’s Road, Brighton at least between 1801 and 1807. (Millfield Cottages pay homage to this windmill) Prior to this he was in Falmer.
I believe his wife, Sarah, died in April 1831 (Granville Place, Brighton), but I cannot find Henry’s (or Harry’s) death.
(Andy, you mentioned in my previous query about the Middle Street Brewhouse that there had been a miller named HOBDEN in Lewes. Can you provide any further details please?)
Many thanks, Alan Hobden.
