Can any one tell me if there is a book written about Portslade? The reason I ask is that my grandfather and his brothers are mentioned in it so I am told. I was told that there was and that it could be found in Portslade library. They are mentioned because they used to “import” spirit by meeting collecting the barrels from the boats, when they got near the shore they would send the dogs over board to swim ashore towing the barrels this avoiding the excise men.
