I am researching history of my house. I live in Clifton Road, and have so far found that the house was built as one of eight (18-25) for a Mrs. Hawking, architects plans were approved in 1904 and occupation set for 1907. The architects were Denman & Matthews of 27 Queens Road. I am interested in who occupied the building, but the deeds provide only recent owners. I have looked in the Kelly directories and found a private resident in 1911, a Captain Laurence Arthur Sherrard. If anybody knows anything about Mrs. Hawking, Captain Laurence Sherrard (not in 1901 census), or can offer any advice on house research, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
