Islingword Street

by Paul Clarkson 8 January 2003

In 1967 my parents bought 8a Islingword St. We lived there for 4 years. I had always been puzzled as to why 8a was larger in width than the rest of the houses in the street until I saw an old map of Brighton and saw that there was a sort of alleyway on the site of 8a going through to Ewart St. While we lived at the house we were digging in the garden one day and we actually got down to what we thought were cobble like stones, could this have been the floor of some twitten that was there at the time. I look forward to hearing any news on this please.
