London Street by Graham Harmes 7 January 2010London Street has come up in 1871 census transcript. Does anyone know where this road is as I cannot find it? Thank you.7 replies Re: London Street by Andy Grant 7 January 2010Hi Graham, London Street was a turning off Ann Street, running parallel with and between Providence Place and New England Street. The area was cleared for redevelopment and has since been rebuilt upon, leaving no trace of the original road.Regards Andy Re: London Street by angel 7 January 2010HI GRAHAM, IF YOUR INTERESTED THERE ARE 2 PHOTOS ON SITE IN THE JAMES GRAY COLLECTION.VOLUME 25.IMAGE 260 AND 261. REGARDS. Re: London Street by Carol Homewood 7 January 2010My Mother-in-law lived there as a child. It ran down the West side of St Bartholemews church. There are a couple of photo’s on James Gray website Re: London Street by Graham Harmes 7 January 2010The James Gray collection is really terrific. I only discovered it the other day and have spent hours looking at pictures. Picture 260 is particularly interesting because of the bakers. My ancestor lived at No 18 in 1871. It may have been a coincidence but my late father was a close friend of Tony Cutress in the 60’s and I’m just beginning to wonder if there might have been a loose friendship with the Cutress’s through the generations. My Grandfather was Superintendent of Brighton police so maybe there was a connection through the Masons or something? I am trying to gather information on all these issues but with no known living relatives, I am struggling.
