Looking for info on Roy Whipps born 1926 by Alison Johnson 26 February 2010THank you so much for responding to me — perhaps anyone reading these notes has some info on my father and can tell me anything about him.4 replies Re: Looking for info on Roy Whipps born 1926 by Roy Grant 26 February 2010Finding someone that knew Roy is going to be difficult for as he was born in 1926 and left Brighton around 1950, it would be asking any 84 year old former friends or associates to cast their minds back 60 or more years. Not inmpossible, but a difficult task for many. Re: Looking for info on Roy Whipps born 1926 by Roy Grant 27 February 2010Ah, it all comes together. Roy’s birth year (1926 in Preston, from FreeBMD) his Sidney Street addresses from Andy’s collection of directories and Eric James referring to him by name. Contact Jenny Drury privately on the My Brighton site who may have a contact number for Eric. Jenny is part of the team that vets all messages and then notifies those that placed them that they have been published. You could also put a message out here: ‘Eric James, Where are You?’ Re: Looking for info on Roy Whipps born 1926 by Roy Grant 27 February 201086 year old Eric is still be in Brighton somewhere, for I found a report saying he was among the local crowd that attended the funeral of WW1 veteran Henry Allingham in 2009. Re: Looking for info on Roy Whipps born 1926 by Alison Johnson 27 February 2010Thanks Roy GRant — you have a good point. Actually I was inspired to sear this hunt when somehow I found myself reading a comments page on the Brighton and Hove Places messgae board — and low and behold some person was actually looking for info on a Roy Whipps – It reads – “I was a choir-boy at St Peter’s Church in 1938. Other members of the Choir were Douglas Trangmar of Pelham Square and Roy Whipps of Sidney Street. Does anyone know these two? Where are they now?By Eric James (05/01/2010)How weired is that! Maybe Mr. James will respond to the message I have left. I can hope! Thanks again — Add your replyHiddenAdd your title Add your wordsWould you like to add some images (optional)?
