Scanning through old street directories, hopefully to answer queries, I realised that before their expansion into superstores or even Churchill Square, Tescos had a host of smaller shops in the town. St James St, Gardener St, Dyke Road, London Road, Blatchington Rd, George Street and Boundary Road Portslade. Ironically the directories then described them as ‘GROCERS.’
Who recalls shoping at them back in the good old Green Sheild Stamp days?
