I have been told that my Great Grandfather, William Sherwood, was killed as a result of an accident outside Brighton Station in Feb 1944. As a family, we have been told that he was crushed by a Tram. However, his Death Certificate doesnt give any indication to dying as a result of an accident, and this is now a source of mystery to our family. My Great Grandmother Nellie Sherwood continued to work outside the Station selling newspapers until her retirement in 1975. I would love to hear from anyone who may have known my Great Grandparents, or indeed can throw any light on my Great Grandfathers passing.
