i would like some help my family the beards lived in nz in a house called ovingdean in around 1880 in cole street , masterton it is said by the nz beards that our william gascoyne beard had some connection with ovingdean in sussex , we have a crest but do not think it is a beard one , this it what is was like … a mythical beast lion or griffen crouching on all fours resting on a cloth cap with a upturned cernelated brim facing left . . my man in nz said he had seen it on letter paper and silverware , all though he was born on nz he went to school here in london
