preston village by ANTHONY DUKE 14 July 2012does anyone remember METHUEN MANOR NURSING HOME it was on preston road and is now preston park hotel2 replies Re: preston village by Andy Grant 14 July 2012Hi Anthony, Methuen House Nursing Home was at Methuen Manor, 216, Preston Road, with an annexe at 6 & 3, Harrington Road. The Matron was Amy Methuen-Bemister and she had taken these premises after the war. Prior to the war she had operated the home at Methuen House, 8, Royal Crescent from the early 1930’s and Methuen Manor, Withdean (which became 216, Preston Road) from a few years later. Regards, Andy Re: preston village by Tim Baker 13 February 2020 3:37 PMI worked at the butchers in Preston Road, and I remember we were supplying Methuen Manor in the early sixties. After that it became the Touring Hotel and operated under that name for some years. Add your replyHiddenAdd your title Add your wordsWould you like to add some images (optional)?
