I have just bought a print entitled “Hove Church from the Sea”, an engraving by CJ Smith from an original work by Thomas Henwood.
It has an intriguing legend printed below the picture, stating “Presented by Mr George Stephens”
Does any local historian in Hove know who Mr Stephens was, and who he was presenting this view to? Or indeed, where Thomas Henwood’s original is?
I would be glad of any help on this one, Hove not being my local area.
