Andy Grant was kind enough to respond to an earlier query about North Lodge and Richard Ironmonger. In his reply he referred to ‘Brighton Directories’, though I don’t know which directories. Is there any mention in these of a lady called Barratt Taylor, who was the mother of his only child (illegit) and who is mentioned frequently in his long will. Richard owned many houses in Brighton and elsewhere. Any clues to Barratt Taylor would be appreciated because I cannot trace her via censuses etc. The child (my g.g.g.grandmother) was born in Hastings in 1817 and was called Jane Taylor and then Jane Irving.
