School Project by Georgia 13 July 2004i have to do a school art project on my area, and was wondering how i can find out about my road or my house? (wilbury gardens..)1 reply Re: School Project by Stuart Hebden 17 July 2004I would describe the location of my road (Town, District), Look at maps – give 10m National Grid Reference for the ends of your road and your House. How high is it above sea level? Draw a map to show local landmarks and points of interest. Look for Building Date stones on local houses (usually at first-floor level above the front door) to see when they were built. Show how the area developed through the years. Look at old maps on the internet to see what used to be there. Look for local placenames or road names which commemorate local people or events and include pictures or biographical details. Try Brigton History Centre for old photographs. -What is happening to the area now? – Look at the Local development plan to see how it might grow in the next few years! – That should get you started!
