I have searched the website without success for anything about the annual summer seafront art show that which used to be set up through the 1950s and 60s along the upper promenade east of the boundary peace statue. The artists were there hoping to sell their work. Can’t remember any names now, but the same ones were often there each year. Much of it was quite amateurish but the whole thing added interest and colour to a seafront stroll. When and why did it stop?
