About 1948, when i was five,i was sent from Staffordshire to a convalescence home called St. Johns home. I remember it was near the Downs and the beach as we were taken there.I heard it had burned down! It was there i caught Diphtheria and went to an isolation hospital for many months.If i knew the whereabouts of these places i would dearly love to return and sort out memories.Historicaly i shudder at the system that seperated five year old children from seeing any family for six months(for the childrens own good!!!)Any hints would be very helpful.Best Wishes-Jean Thompson.
