Hi, my greatx2 grandfather is listed in the 1871 census as running a pub in Old Steine Street, Brighton with his wife Sarah. Does anyone know if Old Steine Street and Steine Street are one of the same. The pub’s name was “The Packet Inn” (No joke) and was at number 6. If they are the same then I believe “The Plotters Parlour” now occupies the site. My greatx2 grandfather was George Phillips who latter went on to run a lodging house in Russell Square again with his wife Sarah.
