I have found out that there are two Rosabella Brooks born in Brighton in the 1850s, one the daughter of William Brook, my great great grandfather, the other the daughter of Thomas Brook, who, I think, was the brother in law of William Alger, Mayor of brighton in 1859-60. Does anyone happen to know if William and Thomas Brook were brothers. Wm Alger’s wife, Elizabeth was born Elizabeth Brook, daughter of Wm Brook, a baker, and Wm Brook the father of Rosabella was also the son of a Wm Brook, a baker. It is all getting very confusing
