I gather by JD’s test, things seem to have gone unusually quiet. I also recall the great number of remeniscences about the Regent, so am interested to see a similar response about the Ice Rink, or even when it was a swimming pool?
I recall when I worked in West Street in 1958, the rink introduced 1 hour lunchtime sessions for workers. For about 1/- you could hire a pair of their brown skating boots with red makings, and have a skate followed by a bowl of hot soup.
