Can anyone please advise what the term ‘WATCHMAN AT THE WICK’ would mean. I understand there was the Wick Estate, the Wick Hall, the Wick Hotel or Inn. Have also seen a reference to where someone claimed they were educated at ‘The Wick’
One of the persons I am interested in has given his occupation on a birth cetificate as Watchman at the Wick.
Would like some historical background on the various Wick’s if possible.
