Was there a harbour for troop ships landing in Brighton 1939? by Bob BLAKEY 29 June 2020 11:03 AMWas there a harbour for troop ships landing in Brighton in 1939?1 reply Re: Was there a harbour for troop ships landing in Brighton 1939? by Geoffrey Mead 7 July 2020 11:14 AMBrighton has no harbour. Port of Shoreham and Newhaven Harbour are the nearest that large vessels could use. In what context is this query? As there was only a small British Expeditionary Force in France at the end of the year, and there was no major army base in the town at that time, apart from the small Preston Barracks.
