Webb's greengrocers Rock Street

by Tim Sargeant 19 April 2007

Does anyone know what happened to Webbs ? They had a greengrocers shop in Rock Street in the 1950s and on. I believe they lived in, possibly, Seaview Road Woodingdean or one of the roads next to it. Teddy Webb was in the Navy during the war and survived his ship being torpedoed in the Pacific by holding onto a plank for a fortnight. He used to take me and my bike up to Woodingdean to school in his Commer van after lunch to save me riding up Wilson Avenue ! TCS.
