Does anyone else have memories of ‘Pinch Gut Day’ my gran used to gather all the food left over from the week and cook it all up in one pan for Friday lunch, I suppose similar to Bubble and Squeek except this had EVERYTHING in it. When you think we had no fridges in those days (1950)s just the cold shelf. No wonder we grew up tough!!! Mustn’t forget the lovely Cod Liver Oil and Malt, yummy!!!
