I went with some friends to visit Preston Manor today, very interesting! On leaving the Manor we walked past the east side of the house, turned left through an archway arriving in the corner of the churchyard of the small church of St Peter. On our left was a small clump of trees, within this area was a small building with flint walls and arched windows. Was this the ‘well house’ mentioned in Tim Carder’s Encyclopaedia of Brighton – we could not look at it closely as it was ‘fenced’ off
