“The cliff path was crowded but then it always is at weekends and Bank Holiday’s. I don’t think it was anything to do with people breaking the exercising rules and driving to Brighton for a walk. It was simply a lovely weekend and the locals walked and cycled. The upshot was police cars driving along the cliff path politely dispersing the ‘illegal gatherings’ and asking people to observe the ‘social distancing’ rules.

Today the narrower parts of the cliff path have been painted showing us what 2 metres is on the path. Most of the cliff path is nearer 12-18 metres so it’s good to see the guidelines in narrow parts.

Police in Brighton issued more than 50 fixed-penalty notices to day-trippers who lived outside the county.”
