The club was formed in 2004 at the request of the Police and Council to provide a safe regulated facility for the youth within the local vicinity. They approached Mathew and Nicholas Bell who had training experience, and they have worked so hard for many years providing support and training for boys and girls in the area It has had many successes with its boxers with titles at county and national championships. One of our girls was successful in winning a gold medal at the Haringey Cup. a prestigious competition held in London.
Future community investment
The club has grown in membership so an extension was badly needed. With the support of Sport England, local councillors, and many local companies we were able to raise funds to complete a substantial extension more than double our previous building. The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Councillor Dee Simson, joined us to celebrate the launch of the extension. We are now able to offer training and mentoring to many more people. Local adults have been trained as Qualified trainers so the club will be a future investment for the Community.
