A great image that demonstrates the importance both of habitat conservation and the need to ensure that remaining patches are integrated at the landsacpe scale to ensure linkages between habitats. Thanks for the image!
I am sure that there was, in the 1950s and 60s an old house that stood on the edge of the field to the background. It was derelict and my friends and I would go to play there. Someone once told us that it had been lived in by a sailor, but there was no proof of that claim, just a rumour. The cottage disappeared in the 80s I think, probably pulled down by the farmer.
