v) CHALLONERS MEWS: A development of 1977 created by the conversion of the listed eighteenth-century flint barns and outbuildings of Court Farm. The adjacent farmyard was laid out in the 1950s with the Rottingdean Bowling Club’s green amid great local opposition, but the result is pleasing and one old outbuilding is now used as a shelter.
