A thank you from the Queen

These evacuee children are seen arriving at Brighton Station in 1939. They look anxious having left their homes and loved ones, and being billeted with complete strangers. It must have been a very traumatic experience for ones so young.

Every household across the country, who accommodated evacuees, was sent the thank you note from Queen Elizabeth which is shown below. This one was given to Brighton resident Mrs Mason; unfortunately, we do not know who she was. It would be terrific if we could find out.
