  • wW lived in Mile Oak at the time. I remember walking out of the back door to retrieve my dustbin and two tiles came off the roof and smashed near to me. I executed a swift u turn and went back in. You could see the power lines over Southwick Hill flashing as they shorted out and I will never forget the sound of the wind. it was my daughter’s birthday and she thought it was something that was arranged especially for her. I have sat through a hurricane in Florida but our storm felt worse as it was so unusual.
