North Laine street art

That ‘cool’ atmosphere

Just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Royal Pavilion is the more quirky area of the North Laine. This is a fabulous place to window shop on a sunny Saturday morning, so busy with shops and cafés spilling onto the pavements, and a ‘cool’ atmosphere.

Atypical quirkiness

What I like about the North Laine is its atypical quirkiness. From Snooper’s Paradise for interesting bric-a-brac, to independent record stores and even a vegetarian shoe shop, it can all be found in North Laine.

Colourful and vibrant

While the beauty and the fine art of the Royal Pavilion or Brighton Museum is acknowledged, what about street painting of North Laine? Is it art or just graffiti? I think there’s no doubt that this is genuine art.  Even if you disagree, it’s what makes North Laine what is, a colourful, vibrant area of our city!
