I remember a printers called Eagle Press on the opposite side of the road to the gasometer.

Does anybody know the history of the red brick houses at the lower part of Sackville Road? Each of the houses has a different sculpture on them. My house has got a dragon on the front of the house.

I have just found out the four red brick buildings at the bottom of Sackville Road (one of which I live in), were built in 1880 as homes for the nurses for Hove General Hospital.

It is hard to imagine that huge ugly gasometer behind Church Road! I think it was there until quite recently, but am I dreaming? Not that Tesco's looks much nicer, not a patch on the library anyway!
