Brighton Beach by Jodie Clifford 11 June 2005Can someone tell me if brighton was ever a sandy beach or has it always been a pebble beach with sandy offshore???2 replies Re: Brighton Beach by Jack 12 June 2005There’s a debate about this subject at:www.mybrightonandhove.org.uk/beach_queries.htmHope that helps.Jack Re: Brighton Beach by Mick Peirson 15 October 2006Hi JodieThe only sand when I was a kid in the 40s & 50s was at low tide and it started sort of just before the Banjo Groyne. Eastwards of that there was only chalk and lovely rock pools at low tide. The nearer to the piers you got then more sand appeared at low tide. Our main beach was west of West Pier, at low tide there was plenty of sand.Mick Peirson Add your replyHiddenAdd your title Add your wordsWould you like to add some images (optional)?
