1828 Kemptown's first residents

by Liz Williamson 21 February 2008

Can anyone tell me anything about a Mrs Miller who was one of the first 11 residents in Kemptown and moved in high society/politically influential circles? She moved there in December 1828. She is known to have received letters from the Marquis of Bristol, the Duke of Gloucester, Lord Mandeville, Sir Edward Pringle, Sir Edward Kerrison and Lord Brudenell and J R Kemp himself – all members of Parliament… but who she was remains a mystery…
It seems her son (G Dempster Miller) was a curate at Heathfield Vicarage,Uckfield 1828-9…

All info – or directions – welcome Thank you.
