Can anyone name and locate any of the Paperback Book Exchanges that operated in the town to my memory throughout the sixties and seventies.Most also seem to have done magazines as well, which in in some of the seedier shops,were often very lurid American ones with World War 2 themes which were an excuse for scantily clad women on the front being menaced either by Japanese or Germans.Not all carried this fare and you could get good paperbacks in them as well,with the name of the exchange stamped inside.I would like to know whether any of these still exist, as I have a strange nostalgia for some of them, as they kept my student interest in science fiction and horror alive,when I did not have much money.
