Does anyone remember in the 50s when Woolworths in Western Road had a Promotion on selling the hoola hoop, Us girls who worked there all practised at lunch time. The one who could do the most turns got to stand on the wooden counter in front of everyone All day Saturday in a very small space I might add. The girl that Won got to go home early, holding her prize a box of chocolates well deserved too we all cheered when she came in on the Monday she ached so much they put her on stockroom duty .
