I have the marriage certificate of Peter HOGARTY, a private in the 4th Dragoon Guards marrying Margaret MORRISON on 25th Dec 1859 in the Registry office in Brighton.
Can anyone help me with any further information about the 4th Dragoon Guards and why they might have been in Brighton at that time please?
Peter’s residence at the time of his marriage was recorded as The Barracks, Preston, which I am presuming is in Lancashire.
Any help with any aspect of this marriage and the Guards would be appreciated.
