Papers of Beryl Tucknott (née Speed)
From: Letter in the AtticCorrespondence and cards exchanged during the Second World:
1. Aerogramme from Ernest Farnden to Rose Adelaide Speed (Beryl’s mother), 10/8/44 from Italy. Ernest was killed in Italy a few weeks later.
2. Letter from Beryl Speed to her uncle, Jack Bilton, a Canadian with the Canadian Army Overseas. The letter was sent on 25 November 1944 and was damaged in enemy action. The envelope and letter have a hole in them, presumably a bullet.
3. Letter to Beryl Tucknott, aged 7 years old, from Robert Lilywhite, serving in North Africa with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, dated 4 December 1943.
4. Aerogramme greeting cards from Robert Lilywhite to Beryl and Rose Speed, 1944-45
