The investigator from the Mendicity Society records that her house is in a destitute state. Casenote related to Hanna Gaynor (Case 17) LIA/53/1/3This case concerns Hanna Gaynor of 33 Thomas Street. Enquiries by the Mendicity Society establish that her husband has never had any regular work and Hanna has been convicted for felony. Casenote related to Caroline Taylor (Case 25) LIA/53/1/4This application is from Caroline Taylor of 46 Baker Street. She requests assistance with railway expenses in order to take her blind boy to Guys Hospital. Casenote related to Thomas Martin (Case 47) LIA/53/1/5This case relates to Thomas Martin of 37 Quebec Street. After investigation, he is allowed 3 shillings for an old pair of shoes to enable him to get work. Casenote related to Elizabeth Avery (Case 69) LIA/53/1/6This case concerns Elizabeth Avery of 1 Sugars Court. She wants a little assistance to support her husband who is blind. Casenote related to Mary Purser (Case 130) LIA/53/1/7This case concerns Mary Purser of 47 Chesterfield Street. She seeks assistance because she is unable to go out hawking due to her daughter, who is an out-patient at the Eye Infirmary after another child scratched her eye in the playground and it became poisoned.
