I had an ancestor, Peter Vickers/Vicars who was a gunmaker born in Cheshire. He went to Ireland then to Brighton. I know he lived in Lewes Road. I’m guessing he was somehow connected with the army barracks, which would account for him moving around. Would he have been in a regiment? Or just a gunmaker attached to a regiment? Any help would be great, Jackie
