Brighton/Hove Boat called The Phoebe Hassell

by Helen Shipley 28 November 2007

Doea anyone know anything about a boat – possibly a pleasure boat, called The Phoebe Hassell? I believe it may have been associated with my Woolgar ancestors.
It was named after the intrepid lady who went off to war as a soldier (apparently male) she was in the 5th Regiment of Foot “…a famous female soldier who was pensioned off by George IV. She is commemorated by a monument in the churchyard at Hove, Brighton.”
