by maralyn eden 26 July 2009

In the Argus yesterday.
Brighton’s “birdcage” bandstand was put to its original use for the first time in 35 years last night.

The campaign to return the historic bandstand to its former glory has taken more than two years and cost £950,000 but is now complete.

“The colours are exactly the same as they were at the beginning.

“It is extraordinarily beautiful. Everybody is raving about it.

The Victorian Grade II-listed birdcage structure is ready to be enjoyed by the public.
