Re: Cemetary Info by Mike Mc Abee 17 November 2007Anne – you have jogged my memory w/ your ref to Upper Shoreham Rd. My Uncle Sydney lived on Upper Shorehame Rd (I think 204?); he had a son named James. When I was in England in the ’90’s I asked the operator if there was a Green family on Shoreham Rd. THey said they had a listing for GREEN but not the address I gave them. I called them and sope to Mr Green; he knew immediately the family I meant, since he had a son named James as well and he said they always received my Jame’s mail by mistake. Difference was that his James was an Other Rank and my James was an Officer. We had a very pleasant talk for abt 30 minutes. Re: Cemetary Info by brian roote 3 January 2008Portslade cemetery is I believe under the control of Brighton and Hove City Council. The records are at Woodvale and like most bereavement services they make a charge for look ups! Good hunting Re: Cemetary Info by Brian Roote 4 January 2008Further to my last posting I have now found the relevant file and can confirm that Portslade does come under Woodvale. 10 years ago they found my grandmothers grave FREE of CHARGE but it now costs! I do have a map of the cemetery if anyone wants to find a plot. Add your replyHiddenAdd your title Add your wordsWould you like to add some images (optional)?
