There’s a debate going on here:

as to whether true Brightonians (whatever they are) refer to the Hanover area as “Southover”.
I’d always thought that I live in “Hanover” (I’m in one of the streets off Southover Street”), but now I’m being told it’s not really the case. I’m being told that it’s only because I’m not originally from here that I suffer from this delusion.
Has anyone else got a view?
