I have been told that my great great great grandfather, Henry Smithers was at one time mayor of Brighton, but can find little or no information about him. Not sure when he was born but would guess around 1800ish. Have no details of his wife but he had a daughter, Eliza. Would be very grateful for any information. Thanks.
