Can anyone tell me the exact date of the fire that destroyed the original Town Hall.It was in early 1966 I think
I lived in Adelaide Crescent at the time and was on a bus (which was diverted saying “the town halls on fire”) on route to Hove station to travel with friends to Henfield and fish the Adur near Shermanbury Pub
I could not get them to believe me as we set of on the train.!
I am about to contact one of these friends by e-mail for the first time since that era.
