Jack Sheppard's

by Tim Sargeant 16 December 2005

My father Carl Sargeant, now 93, tells me that there was a bandstand where Peter Pan’s Playground was later, where a chap called Jack Sheppard used to put on shows and people like Max Miller would appear when they were starting on their show-biz careers. Does anyone know any more about this ? Apparently it closed long before the war, and the bandstand disappeared. He thought it was famous enough for there to be lots of references to it on MyB&H, which I tell him about, but I’ve only found one !
