John Hobden, Gents' Day Academy of Brighthelmstone, 1823

by Alan Hobden 15 September 2016

The 1823 Pigot’s Directory of Sussex (Pages 498 – 504) includes an entry for the above.
Can anyone please tell me where this Academy was, and how long John was there?
I believe he was subsequently transported for life to Tasmania after being convicted on 24 March 1830 at Horsham Assizes for stealing a £10 bank note, and initially sentenced to be hanged.
Many thanks, Alan Hobden.
