Pier Fishing

by Roy Grant 2 August 2009

Amongs my collection of childhood memorabielia is my badge from the Brighton fishing club. For the unititiated, in the 50s you could dig bait in the sand at low tide, and fish not only from the landing stage at the end of the pier, but also from along the pier sides. The speedboat was running then and periodically the Waverly, a paddle steamer used to call on its run to and from Ryde on the Isle of wight.
